Robbo is a self-taught artist based in St Austell who gave up making art in his twenties for a solid 30-year tour of beer, real life, and not picking up a pencil. It wasn’t until Covid lockdowns rolled around, with nothing but time and techno, that the urge to make something struck again.
He hasn’t looked back since.
Now in his 50s, Robbo spends most of his time drawing surreal women, twisted icons, boozy animals in waistcoats, and the occasional Kraken surfing a cocktail. His work is bold, strange, stylish, and occasionally unsettling — like a night out you can’t fully remember but still think about years later.
He works across pencil, ink, paint, and whatever else gets the job done. He’s not trying to make big statements. He just wants to make art that looks great, carries a bit of bite, and makes people stop and go, “What the hell is that?”
